A little bit about us.
We are Houlihan Building Company. A custom home renovation and building company that specializes in bringing well-crafted, livable homes to life.
Founded by Andy Houlihan in 2010 as an interior trim carpentry company. Our interest in and experience with transforming and building homes grew over the years. And so did our capabilities. Today, we operate as full-service general contractors focused on delivering a custom quality product and clear build process - start to finish.
We have been fortunate to partner with some of the leading architects, interior designers, trade experts, craftspeople, and makers across the Saint Paul-Minneapolis-West Metro area who take great care in their craft and how they bring projects to life for our homeowners.

More About Andy
Born into the trades, Andy learned the ins and outs of carpentry and honest building from his family’s custom home building company. With an interest in entrepreneurship and woodworking, he established Houlihan Woodwork in 2010. Seeing an opportunity to build on his relationships with fellow trade teams to produce the entire build for his homeowners, he obtained his builders license.
A carpenter by trade, he understands the need for planning and collaboration to enhance execution and efficiencies. Today, he is known for his dedication to quality, craftsmanship and leading with relationships. This shows in how he brings teams together to realize his clients’ design vision.
Andy has 18 years experience working in custom home building and carpentry. He has a B.A. in Strategic Communications and studied business at the Carlson School of Management and DIS in Copenhagen, Denmark.
When not working, he enjoys being outside, having fun with family and researching his next sauna build.
